One star only because it is not possible to leave zero. This location would not accept a reservation made through USAA under the terms made. They demanded additional documentation in order to avoid fulfulling the reservation, despite being contacted by the Hertz USAA specialist. My follow-up contact with them was met with apathy, bordering on rudeness.
This rental experience was a nightmare. My husband and I decided to pay with our debit card. Because of this, Hertz performed a credit check, contacted our bank, put a $250 hold on our checking account above and beyond the rental price, and contacted our insurance company. After speaking to THREE people at our insurance agency, the CSR at the Hertz counter told us that she got the information she needed, just not from an adjuster. I asked why that mattered, and she told me that if there is an "incident", an adjuster would be called to review it. Not someone in a call center. Already running an hour behind because of this bullsh*t, I called my agent directly. On her cellphone. On a Saturday. She FINALLY convinced them to release the car to us. After signing what we needed to sign and agreeing to the stupid $250 hold, we were told that if we had used a credit card, ALL of this would've been avoided. Screw you, Hertz. You pissed off a AAA Gold Member and employee. We will NOT be back...
On Christmas Day 2015 I had a reservation with Dollar, Dollar overbooked and wouldn't honor my reservation, so I went to the Hertz counter to see if they had cars, they did, and I was in and out in a matter of minutes, was very pleased with their service, yes you pay a little more, but it's well worth the the peace of mind knowing they will honor their reservations.
I left my my jacket locked accidentally in my returned car at the Dayton airport, and because it was very early in the morning there was no one to help me retrieve it. This was in April, we are now in June and I cannot get anyone at Hertz to even acknowledge that they have my jacket. Why does Hertz not let me know that they have my jacket?
This was an emergency cause I usually go to enterprise but aaa suggested them. ..was told 60.00 for weekend and could do split pay on 2 credit cards. .when I got there was informed that I had to use 1 or the other. ..never going back
